Messiah for the City

The late Jack Layton conceived Messiah for the City in the late 1990s. He felt music and art should be accessible to everyone. Tickets to this special concert are not sold but rather distributed by United Way and its partner agencies to Torontonians who wouldn’t normally have access to such an event.

Toronto Beach Chorale, in partnership with Knox Presbyterian Church, presents Messiah for the City on Saturday, December 16/23. The performance features players from the Toronto Symphony, professional soloists, and an 80 voice chorus combining The Toronto Beach Chorale and the Mississauga Chamber Singers.

Dear Toronto Beach Chorale
Thanks ever so much for Messiah for City.
I arranged tickets for a refugee family of twelve who loved it.
Their two family sponsors came and afterward we all went for dinner.
Thanks for such an awesome experience
