Concerts in our 2019-2020 season

Fauré Requiem & Lauridsen Lux Aeterna

Good Friday, April 10, 2020 – Cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic

Following the recommendations and guidance from public health authorities, Toronto Beach Chorale suspended its 2019/2020 season on March 15, 2020. We will resume our performance schedule once we have guidance from public health authorities that large gatherings are safe to proceed.

We thank all of you who have come to our performances this year and supported our choral ensemble. Our Artistic Director, Mervin Fick, and the entire Toronto Beach Chorale will continue to strive for high-calibre concert performances when we return to the concert stage.

Carl Orff – Carmina Burana

Performed on Sunday March 1, 2020 at St Anne’s Anglican Church

Toronto Beach Chorale recently performed Carmina Burana – probably the best-known choral work of the 20th century, excerpted to sell everything from cars to beer to aftershave. From the crash of the cymbals heralding the opening lines of ‘O Fortuna’ through to the tenor channeling the roasting swan, Carmina is a thrill to the senses. hFeaturing the TorQ Percussion Quartet, two concert grand pianos (Ronald Greidanus and Adolfo de Santis), and soloists Matthew Cassils, bass-baritone; Christina Lamoureux, soprano; Michael Dodge, tenor.

Christmas Then – Music from the Downton Era

Performed on Saturday November 30, 2019 at Kingston Road United Church
